The Foundation for America’s Public Lands congratulates Stevan Pearce on his confirmation as Director of the Bureau of Land Management.

WASHINGTON, DC (May, 11 2026) — The Foundation for America’s Public Lands, the official charitable partner of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), issued the following statement on the confirmation of Stevan Pearce to serve as Director of the BLM:

Congratulations to Stevan Pearce on his confirmation to lead the Bureau of Land Management (BLM).

The BLM oversees some of the largest and hardest working lands in the country, and these places touch the lives of countless Americans. It is a powerhouse for good, and its multiple-use mission is critical to stewarding the lands we love – from ranching, farming, energy development, mining, and habitat for wildlife to all forms of outdoor recreation. We are pleased to see the appointment of a new director.

As the BLM’s congressionally chartered partner, the Foundation for America’s Public Lands works hand-in-hand with the bureau, local communities, and other stakeholders to increase support for public lands and inspire more people to connect with the outdoors.

We thank Bill Groffy for his leadership as acting director and look forward to working alongside Director Pearce to ensure America’s public lands and waters remain healthy and accessible, now and for generations to come.
