Recreation and Access
Despite its low national profile, the BLM is an outdoor recreation powerhouse, helping to drive a booming $1.2T outdoor recreation economy.
Investments in BLM recreation infrastructure have lagged for far too long. At just 4.1% of the BLM’s budget, funding for recreation infrastructure, operations and maintenance is not keeping pace with the demand for recreation, which has increased by 40% since 2012.
A Shared Vision for the Future

Through investments in recreation infrastructure and interpretive resources, the Foundation is helping to ensure all visitors have access, and a first-class experience, on BLM-managed public lands and waters.

Engage the Next Generation
Expanding youth outreach, training, and pathway programs to build the next generation of stewards and employees.

Increase Awareness

Community Building
Convening industries, communities and user groups to create a shared vision for recreational use and investment.
