Shepard “Shep” Harris, joined UBS Financial Services based in their San Francisco office in 1997 as Vice President of Investments, leading that vertical until his retirement in 2024. Shep has also been actively involved in real estate and development for more than 4 decades, working hand-in hand with local communities, businesses and conservation organizations in and around Mount Desert Island, Maine – home to Acadia National Park. He has a long-standing belief in the importance of keeping nature close to home and a commitment to smart development. Shep now spends his time as a community service volunteer, having served as Founding Vice President for Bangor Land Trust, President of Teton Valley Education Foundation and Chair for Penjajawoc Marsh Bangor Mall Management Commission. He is a graduate of Philadelphia College of Art (now University of the Arts) with a BFA in crafts in 1983. Shep splits his time between California and Wyoming alongside his wife Melissa and frequently travels around the world to explore other cultures and landscapes, and to visit their three children, Brooke, Bay and Parker.
