Foundation for America’s Public Lands Applauds Introduction of the America the Beautiful Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the Foundation for America’s Public Lands celebrated the bipartisan introduction of the America the Beautiful Act by U.S. Senators Steve Daines (R-MT), Angus King (I-ME), Kevin Cramer (R-ND), and Mark Warner (D-VA). The legislation reauthorizes and strengthens the National Parks and Public Land Legacy Restoration Fund (LRF), originally established through the Great American Outdoors Act, ensuring continued investments in public lands infrastructure, outdoor access, and the outdoor recreation economy.

“The Foundation for America’s Public Lands applauds Senator Daines and Senator King for their bipartisan leadership to reintroduce the America the Beautiful Act,” said I Ling Thompson, CEO of the Foundation for America’s Public Lands. “Public lands and waters represent some of the hardest working places in America. They support rural economies, and produce our energy, food and fiber. BLM-managed lands drive over $252 billion in economic output each year and offer worldclass recreation experiences that support the booming $1.2 trillion outdoor recreation economy. Making investments now that ensure their long-term health will only further prosperity of our country.”

The America the Beautiful Act is supported by over 50 public lands, conservation and recreation groups. Click HERE to view the full list of statements of support and supporting groups.
